What's changing at the new SSTS?

Upon entering the new station, you will see the gate attendant booth. The gate attendant will collect recycling/disposal fees before you dump. See the last page for the new price list.

The recycling and disposal areas are color coded. When you tell the gate attendant what material you wish to dispose, you will be directed to an area. Example: For your recycling go to the Single Stream Recycling Hopper located in the blue area; for your scrap metal, go to the open Scrap Metal container in the yellow area. See "What Goes Where" and transfer station map inside of this handout.

Shopping carts or wagons are available for transporting recycling and garbage from your vehicle to the Single Stream Recycling and Garbage Hoppers.

Clothing and textile collection bins are back. White bins in 3rd parking row.
Black plastics are no longer recyclable. Please dispose in the garbage.
Leaves must be bagged in brown kraft paper bags. No loose leaves accepted.
Bagged leaves accepted September-December & March-May. No leaves June-August.
Visit RecycleCT.com and use the Search Widget to learn if an item can be recycled in the Single Stream Recycling hopper.
